how cool was this.

welcome spring time

every spring, washington state has a tulip festival. it is fields and fields of tulips and it is probably one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen. i went a few years ago with my family to see all the tulips. it was pouring rain, it was so muddy but it was so worth the trip. i saw these pictures and thought it was the perfect picture to post for the first day of spring.

the leg lamp

the christmas story is probably one of my all time my favorite movies. we watch the marathons all day long every christmas day. you just can't get enough of it. well a few years ago, my dad received his own major award in the mail. it came in a big long crate with the words FRAGILE (prounounced Fra-jee-lay) posted on all sides. When he opened it, there lay a lamp. not just any lamp, but a leg lamp.

the christmas tree got moved to the corner and it now sits in my parents bay window for all to see.

if you only knew just how content my little heart was...

for those of you who hate the snow, just embrace it. i think i may have prayed for it enough that it will stay with us this christmas. now wouldn't you just love a white christmas!?

December daily's

this blog has quickly become one of my favorites. miss ali is doing something she calls a december daily album. she is putting together a book using her amazing creativity and scrapbook skills that relfects each day in december for her and her family. she is on day 5 and i am just loving the idea of it, what she has come up with it and am excited to see her end result.

kurt bestor

i just purchased tickets for Monday nights Kurt Bestor Christmas concert. I have been wanting to go to this for years but have never gotten around to it. the excitement in my heart is overflowing! my mom has listened to kurt bestor since i was little so his christmas music is probably my favorite. it is what i remember listening to as a child.

Will I be seeing anyone else there?

i got onto his website to find this snazzy picture above of him doing what he does best and there i found a link to listen to a variety of his music whenever i feel like it. how excited am i?

let there be lights!

did anybody else watch tonights lighting of the rockefellar christmas tree? it was just magical and i wish more than anything i could have been there.

an anthropologie christmas

anthropologie is up there as one of my top favorite stores. besides their overpriced clothing that sometimes you just have to have and besides the expensive pillows that i know andrea or myself would kill for, and besides these beauties that i wouldn't have the guts to wear, the thing i love so much about this magical place is the store decorations...especially for the holidays and especially these christmas chains! just how long do you think this took to make?


i just may have to make a special trip up to gateway just to see the store!

christmas is here!

Before i left for thanksgiving, i started to put up my christmas decorations. i got tired and left for the weekend with a messy house and an unfinished decorating job. tonight i finished and i am so happy! be prepared for lots and lots and lots of blurry, dark and crooked pictures.

the merry christmas sign above my front window. the letters are covered with antique santa paper and have gold sparkles on the backs. so cute.the berry wreath on the front door waiting for some ribbon to join it.

i finally filled my giant wall above my table with some frames, mirrors and christmas pictures.

happy thanksgiving!

i am headed to sanpete county. to the little town of Fayette for the long weekend! for some reason, dad made the decision to build a cabin there where 204 other folks call home. it is quiet and a great little place to hide out in!

i'm thankful for so many things but i'll leave ya with just a few...

my family, who i can't wait to spend the whole weekend with

my job, seriously. i feel thankful to be someone who LOVES what they do.

journals

maybe these cute things will give me the motivation to write in a journal everyday all year long. they are just so cute and how fun would it be to have a whole years worth of journals. what a great gift for someone who uses a journal too!

chalkboard kitchen

i found this picture here a few weeks ago and i can't stop looking back to it. not only do i love the ginormous chalkboard in the middle of the kitchen but i love the floors, kitchen table and the living room in the background. so cute.

today i am happy

and i'm happy for many reasons.

1. i lost 3 pounds this past week. always great.
2. tomorrow is friday.
3. Josh Groban is back in my life for the holidays.
4. this smell, fried ice cream, as traveled throughout my entire house. yummy.
5. i know that what i am doing right now in life is what i need to be doing. what a wonderful, relieving feeling.
6. the empty bedroom in my basement is no longer empty. it is filled with all of my christmas decorations. i had to get over the temptation to put it all out somehow.
7. saturday i get to spend my day with her, her, her, her and her. 1 42, can't wait.
8. thanksgiving is in 2 weeks, 2 weeks people!
9. and someday, i'll get married and have kids. that makes me the happiest.
